Madera, CA. (8/6/22) Justin Kawahata, in the Gene Kawahata Racing Engines number 45 Eagle/360 threw down the gauntlet as the man to beat in his first appearance in the NCMA Pavement Sprint Car Series for 2022. He led wire to wire to take the victory Madera Speedway on Saturday night.
Kawahata started his evening by setting fast time (14.775) in qualifying with Pat Goodwill (15.016) second and David Diaz (15.171) third fast. Jerry Kobza won the first heat race, followed by Pat Goodwill and John Ryans. The second heat race was taken by Rob Hammond, followed by David Burchett and David Goodwill.
In the feature, Kawahata took the lead and stayed there to take the win Pat Goodwill finished second and Kobza finished third after a spirited battle between him, David Goodwill and Rob Hammond.
